Welcome to our monthly update on the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR), an interactive digital map of underground pipes and cables from the Geospatial Commission. It gives planners and excavators standardised access to the data they need, when they need it, to carry out their work effectively and safely. You can find out more on GOV.UK
NUAR legislation has now been tabled
Legislative measures that will help ensure NUAR is complete and sustainable, have now been tabled as part of the new government Data Use and Access Bill.
Read our latest blog to find out more, about what this means for asset owners and NUAR users.
300 asset owners have now signed DDAs
Last month we reached a huge milestone, with over 300 underground asset owners having signed one of the Data Distribution Agreements (DDA) that allows their asset data to be published on the NUAR platform.
A huge thank you to the broad range of organisations that have helped us reach this milestone, from major energy and water providers, telecommunication companies, as well as highway and local authorities.
Get onboard
If you work for an underground asset owner that operates in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, that you do not think is fully signed up to NUAR yet, contact our onboarding team by emailing our Service Desk at [email protected].
If you are a contractor working on behalf of an asset owner, please contact them to see if they can provide you access.
